PIPER'S GIFT was under a snug hold shadowing the pacesetter outside down the backside, remained outside content to track the frontrunner making little headway on the turn, shifted out posing the main threat three wide in upper stretch, picked up the bit when roused with a right-handed crop eating away at the leaders margin at the sixteenth pole and had a strong late surge in deep stretch to edge away for the win at the finish line. BOSSY CANDY assumed the lead setting only a moderate pace with the wind at her back in the early going, was nursed along unchallenged moving comfortably around the bend, spurted away under left-handed urging at the furlong pole, continued to fight stubbornly to the wire but just got nabbed on the outside unable to fend off the strong late burst from the winner outside. CORSIA VELOCE settled three deep outside a couple of horses in mid-division, began to uncork a rally three wide around foes with three eighths remaining, shifted to the four path well in range of the lead duo in upper stretch and finished up well enough on the outside to be a clear but non-threatening third in the end. KATIE'S GRACE was unhurried seeing the field in the early going, started to make a mild run three wide around runners at the five sixteenths pole, shifted out to the four-path turning for home, angled back inside in the final furlong and ran on evenly paced for a minor share. PAGEANT QUEEN was well held on the rail in midfield, was under encouragement midway through the turn but was going in the wrong direction by the quarter pole and lacked a rally inside of runners through the lane. MATHEMATICAL travelled in mid-pack having runners on both sides, was asked for more but could not quicken with the lead trio at the three eighths marker as well as throughout the turn and failed to offer a finishing charge in the three path in the drive to the wire.
