Footnotes
STRATUS was nestled on the rail rating kindly in close range watching the front runner for the first half of this two-turn race, started to get into gear moving out at the five sixteenths pole when nudged for more. lengthened stride sharply at the quarter pole coming with a good rally, pounced three wide between foes in upper stretch and was kept busy to the wire, edging away for the win in the late going. SILVER RALEIGH was content sitting on the outside shadowing the pacesetter, moved in quickly to seize command on the outside midway on the far turn, was collared outside by the winner at the head of the lane, dug in for a while in upper stretch but gave way grudgingly in the final furlong to be a solid second best. STARVIN was unhurried trailing in the beginning, loped along under a good hold improving slightly inside down the backstretch, picked up the bit shifting out four wide at the quarter pole to pose a threat widest in the five path at the top of the stretch but stalled in the final furlong to be a clear third. SOMEKINDA MISCHIEF sneaked up the fence heading into the initial turn getting the lead, set a moderate pace unchallenged down the back straightaway, could not maintain the front end when scrubbed on being passed outside midway through the final bend and finished up evenly on the fence in the drive to the finish line holding for a minor placing. WAITINGFORAHOLIDAY had a stalking role three wide outside runners in the early going, trailed the field along the backside, offered a mild run when asked for more three wide at the three eighths marker until four wide at the quarter pole, shifted out widest in the five path turning for home but could not get into contention. OUT N OUT DISGRACE travelled three wide on the first turn in midfield, remained outside foes status unchanged along the backside, retreated between horses under a ride seeing the field at the five sixteenths pole and had little to show in the stretch running.
