HALCON NEGRO was allowed to find his stride well behind the pack out of trouble down the backside, continued to see the field on the turn, began to warm up to the task shifting out by the quarter pole, swung out widest gathering more speed having clear run in the seven-path turning for home and was in full flight powering past with authority by the sixteenth pole to win going away easily when crossing the finish line. CARRICK ON STAGE had the fence rating kindly sitting in the middle of the pack, waited for cue to move having the rail in the second flight inside another around the oval, scraped paint to be in the hunt turning for home, lacked running room stuck behind the tiring frontrunner at the furlong pole, finally had a clear lane bursting through inside by the sixteenth pole coming with solid late kick but was no match for the winner who was opening up in full stride by then. SILENT KNIGHT broke out on the start, settled in midfield outside another along the back straight, sat poised watching the engaged duo while still outside a runner throughout the turn, moved in splitting horses three wide in the mix at the top of the stretch and finished up mildly to be a clear third at the wire. FIRSTGENERAL NIKAO was forced out by the troubled runner when entering the back straight, recovered to press the issue along the backside on the outside, chased the pacesetter throughout the turn, shifted to the six path between foes in upper stretch and ran on evenly to settle on the fringes in the end. CROSBY was brushed by the inside foe on the break, then had to be checked avoiding the bearing out horse early on down the backside, recouped to have the lead by the nine sixteenths pole, maintained a slim advantage taking the short way around the turn, had the two-path getting weary clinging onto the front end at the furlong pole but had little left to give in deep stretch and tired in the final sixteenth of a mile. IDEALSANDDREAMS was under a hustling ride leaving the gate, bore out badly when entering the backstretch despite the riders best efforts at the eleven sixteenths pole, was on the outer fence attempting to be pulled up by the half, was corralled by the outrider around the turn and walked off. STEWARDS INQUIRY REGARDING #2 IDEALSANDDREAMS DOWN THE BACKSTRETCH RESULTED IN NO CHANGE
