Footnotes
GRANDSON was jostled between runners on the break, sat all alone in midfield in the early stages, began to lengthen stride coming on in the two path midway down the backside, moved in strongly well in hand on the far turn by the quarter pole, cruised by seizing command in the four path at the furlong marker under little urging and won going away with authority at the finish line. NAUVOO broke in at the start, was loose up top unchallenged around the first of two turns, rambled on setting an even tempo still isolated up front along the backside, had the advantage on the second turn but it was quickly diminishing with the eventual winner closing in at the quarter pole, had no answer inside when the winner stormed past and finished up well enough to be a clear second best at the wire. C MY MEISTER shared the rear outside another in the beginning, could see the field at the half, shifted out being checked slightly avoiding the troubled horse heading into the final bend, got back into gear rallying on the fence at the quarter pole and closed in belatedly inside to win the show battle in mid-stretch. ONE MORE BREW had the rail tracking around the first bend, continued to keep tabs on the lone speed leader while in the three path along the backside, gave futile chase on the lead duo through the far turn, shifted to the four path for the stretch drive but could only finish up one paced late settling on the fringes in the end. NINJA STAR was on the outside of another watching the frontrunner on the first turn, continued to be well back of the pacesetter tracking outside down the backstretch, was roused for more three wide at the three eighths pole but could not keep up lead trio around the last bend and emptied out by upper stretch. PROUD RONIN co-trailed on the inside in the beginning, began to reach for more ground progressing on the fence at the half mile marker, was in tight trying to drive up inside runners at the seven sixteenths pole, bounced off the rail dislodging the rider in the process and walked off. STEWARDS INQUIRY REGARDING #1 PROUD RONIN DOWN THE BACKSTRETCH AROUND THE SEVEN SIXTEENTHS POLE RESULTED IN NO CHANGE
