Footnotes
LAST AMERICAN EXIT settled in midfield on the outside, took closer order outside a runner going three wide at the three furlong pole, narrowed the gap on the embattled pair around the bend, shifted to the four path in the hunt outside in upper stretch, powered past under right handed action driving for the lead outside three wide leaving the furlong pole and pulled away from his rivals when crossing the finish line. ARABIAN PRINCE argued three deep outside two rivals for the early lead, battled with the inside runner around the turn edging away slightly at the quarter pole, had a slim advantage two wide in mid-stretch between rivals but was no match for the winner outside in the last sixteenth of a mile while still running on gamely to the wire to be second best. INDIAN PEAK was part of the early scrum up top in the beginning, then, was wrangled back to track the front twosome inside at the half, began to inch closer inside the eventual winner while in the second flight tracking the lead duo around the oval, shifted to be three wide but lost his path in tight quarters having to be checked at the furlong pole, angled out in the four path having a clear run late and finished up with good energy to just get the show award outside at the wire. PINE KNOLL vied between runners in the beginning, dueled on the rail fighting for the lead inside throughout the turn, tried to come back on the fence with a furlong remaining still in the thick of the things but faded inside of runners late and was caught at the wire for the third place share. MOON LANDING bobbled on the break, stalked near the rear ahead of only the other troubled rival into the backstretch, could see the field by the half, was unable to get things going at the rear in the turn running, angled out widest in the six path straightening out for the drive but failed to be a menace in the final furlong. FORESTER'S FORTUNE hopped on the break trailing in the beginning, was roused three wide at the three eighths marker but offered little response throughout the turn, moved out to the five path turning for home but could not get into contention driving down the lane. RED PHARAOH had the rail while sitting in midfield, was hard ridden throughout the oval but was going in the wrong direction by the quarter pole, had little left for the stretch run and faltered inside of runners by mid-stretch.
