MELONI prompted the pace in the beginning three deep on the outside, dueled outside moving comfortably for the rider while head-to-head up top throughout the turn, began to inch away from the stubborn inside speed foe while three wide in upper stretch, finally cleared away under a vigorous ride by the sixteenth pole and won going away at the wire. TOBERMORY was brushed by the inside rival on the start, had a forwardly placed position initially between runners in the beginning, took back off the contesting duo sitting all alone watching the lead pair by the half, chased the engaged pair never letting them get away around the turn, shifted to the four path in upper stretch and closed in belatedly in the final furlong to get up on the outside in the shadow of the wire for the secondary share. SWEET BORDEAUX was away alertly but breaking out some at the start, had a slim advantage on the inside down the backstretch, battled on the fence with the eventual winner around the entire turn, scraped paint determinedly fighting inside in upper stretch, could not match strides giving away up front inside by the sixteenth pole and faded in deep stretch getting nabbed outside for the runners up share. WILLING GUEST broke sharp leaving the gate, settled into stride outside runners watching the lead three by the half, kept pace with the front trio while being scrubbed on around the bend, moved out to the five path for the stretch drive and evened out in the final furlong easily holding for a minor placing in the end. KARAT GOLD broke outwards hitting the outer part of the starting gate, stalked near the rear ahead of only the slow start down the backstretch, took the short way around the bend making little movement and could not get into contention having the fence in the stretch running. MOLLY'S CORNER had a slow beginning trailing the group down the backside, lagged well behind the field while under a busy ride around the oval and could not factor in the stretch running mainly due to the compromised start.
