Footnotes
RUNAWAY AGAIN broke out at the start, had a nice set up nestled on the fence behind the pacesetter throughout while rating very kindly, started to come with a run when asked for more at the quarter pole, shifted out to the two path gathering more speed in upper stretch, grinded away outside on the stubborn frontrunner with a furlong from the prize and edged away for the win nearing the finish line. PARAMOUNT PRINCE assumed the front using the inside post setting a soft pace early, remained up top setting a moderate tempo with little pressure down the backside, cruised along well within himself still on the engine on the final turn, had the rail well in control rationing out the speed smartly with a furlong to go but could not find more in deep stretch and gave way grudgingly to the winner in the final few strides. SWIFT DELIVERY had the fence ahead of only the troubled starter early on, made little movement on the rail along the backside, had little progress just of the fence around the final bend, shifted to the inside of runners with a quick turn of foot in mid-stretch and closed in belatedly to be a non-threatening third in the end. WYOMING BILL settled between runners in mid-pack, stalked outside close to the rear down the back straightaway, began to edge up on the leaders scrubbed on three wide with a quarter mile from the finish line, shifted out to the six path at the furlong pole getting clear run, had his head cocked staying on the wrong lead in the late going but still showed good interest and ran on to be a fringe player at the wire. NOTORIOUS GANGSTER travelled three wide around foes in midfield on the first of two turns, ran in tandem with the eventual winner to his inside watching the lead pair down the backstretch, started to close in midturn still three wide outside foes, shifted to the five path in the hunt at the top of the lane but had little left in the late running and flattened out by the sixteenth pole. WHISKEY N SODA was checked between horses at the break trailing in the early stages, could still see the group down the backside, lagged well behind while hard ridden on the second bend, swung out widest in the seven path in upper stretch and passed a weary inside rival in the late going. SAUGEEN was content to sit off the pacesetter outside on the first turn, still had an outside tracking position down the backstretch, was roused at the three furlong pole giving futile chase through the far turn, shifted to the four path between runners turning for home and faltered by mid-stretch.
