Footnotes
KEKOA had a good spot nestled on the rail behind the frontrunner, sat poised on the fence midway on the last bend waiting for the cue to make a move, darted up the fence with the leader drifting out turning for home, seized command easily by the furlong pole and won in convincing fashion at the wire. REAL SAVVY was loose on the lead on the rail setting a lively pace down the backstretch, shifted just off the fence holding onto the lead with runners bearing down at the quarter pole, relinquished the top spot to the charging winner inside straightening out for the drive but did show resolve to dig in late and hold for the place share with many rivals closing in at the finish line. PALACE VIEW (IRE) had a stalking trip having a couple of runners around the first turn, made no movement along the backside, began to pick up the bit on the fence at the five sixteenths pole, rallied smartly inside horses with a furlong to go on the rail but settled for the show money when just coming up short on the late charge for the place award at the finish line. KING D'ORO co-trailed on the outside, stalked ahead of only one runner down the backstretch, started to uncork a rally between horses at the five sixteenths pole, shifted to the three path stuck behind the leaders at the top of the lane, still lacked running room at the furlong marker and finished with good late energy when finally getting clear in deep stretch but was on the losing end of a three way battle for the place share and settled for a minor role in the end. EL COHETE had the rail position sitting in the middle of the pack, took closer order by the half, circled around horses three to four wide on the turn to be in the conversation at the quarter pole, shifted five wide for the stretch drive but stalled in the final furlong. CIUNAS tracked the brisk pace outside the eventual winner down the backstretch, closed in but was under a ride on the far turn to do so at the quarter pole, remained in the hunt having the four path in upper stretch but could not find more late and yielded between foes in the final furlong. EXUDE shared the rear on the inside, could see the field on the fence with a half mile to run, labored behind the pack throughout the far turn but did manage to pass a struggling outside runner in the final eighth of a mile. YORKTON'S HONOUR settled on the outside sitting in mid-division, was asked for more three wide at the three-furlong pole, offered no response, was back pedaling being passed by two inside runners at the midway point of the final turn, stopped by the furlong pole, cantered across the finish line and walked off.
