Footnotes
POWER OF DESTINY (GB) rated kindly tracking the lead pair while outside another, started to make a run three with three eighths on the far turn, to moved to the leader quickly pouncing at the quarter pole outside, dueled three wide in upper stretch, seized control by the furlong pole and was kept busy to the end just holding safe at the wire for the win. MAJAZ (GB) had a good spot on the fence keeping a close eye on the contesting twosome, shifted just off the fence making a rally between horses heading into the final bend, shifted out off the engaged pair four wide at the top of the stretch and kept on gaining on the winner in the last eighth of a mile but just came up short at the finish line. VEERY pressed the pace outside in the beginning, continued to flank the frontrunner outside under a quick tempo down the back straight, shook clear with three furlong from home, was then collared outside by the winner with a quarter mile still to go, was no match for the front two runners outside in the final furlong and finished up a clear but distant third in a strung out filed at the wire. TALBOT'S RIPLYN was part of the group of three at the back of the pack between rivals, made a brief spurt closing in at the three furlong pole around foes, could not threaten for the top three placings in the drive and ran on one paced in the lane easily securing a minor share at the finish line. PERIWINKLE had the rail part of the last threesome, stalked near the rear down the backside, was checked at the three furlong pole two wide avoiding the troubled runner and could not recover to be a factor in the stretch drive. WHY EM SEA AY was part of the back trio on the outside going three wide around the first of two turns, trailed the field down the backstretch, made little headway once again three wide around the final bend and made little impact in the stretch drive while just galloping home. TEXAS HOLIDAY was unruly prior to the start unseating its rider, broke sharp having the lead on the fence, continued p top inside setting a lively pace along the backside, gave way up top then was snatched up quickly at the three eighths pole dropping well back to last and cantered across the finish line.
