Footnotes
KING RONIN was on a mission loose up top setting a brisk early pace in the first quarter, slowed things down unpressured still up front down the backside, continued controlling the pace under a well rationed out ride throughout the far turn, skimmed the fence in command turning for home and had enough left for the late running to hold safe albeit by a diminishing margin at the wire for the front end score. NIGHT STRIKER had the fence tracking the lone speed on the first of two turns, chased the leader along the backstretch, closed the margin on the pacesetter through the final bend, shifted out three wide posing the only threat to the winner in the stretch run, chipped away relentlessly down the lane coming on in the deep stretch but just could not get there in time. BALTIC SEA was unhurried on the fence seeing the field early on, shared the rear on the outside of another down the backside, began to unleash a run two wide midway around the final bend, had a full head of steam widest in the six path at the top of the stretch and finished up strongly to be a clear third but could not threaten the lead duo at the wire. CELESTIAL HEART traveled all alone in midfield on the initial bend, shifted out progressing three deep along the backside, rallied three wide around foes at the three-furlong pole, shifted inwards to the two path for the drive to the wire and evened out in the final furlong to be fringe player in the end. ENCORE MO tracked the pacesetter while three wide outside of rivals around the first turn, settled in mid-pack with horses on either side down the backstretch, offered no rally making little movement on the far bend, shifted to the four path at the head of the lane but failed to fire in the stretch run. ALMASTY FIVE had a stalking role ahead of a couple of runners in the early stages, could not get into gear at the midpoint of the final bend and was not a factor in the late running. METRO KING had the rail in a stalking position ahead of only one runner in the beginning, co-trailed on the inside at the half, lagged behind the group unable to get going around the last turn and showed a little gumption catching a weary foe in the final furlong. FULL STAR was eager between foes watching the frontrunner heading into the first turn, settled on the rail in mid-pack down the backstretch, had to be checked, making a move coming up quickly on the pacesetter at the seven sixteenths pole, weakened inside foes having the fence in the drive and was checked again slightly at the sixteenth pole while giving way to an outside rival in deep stretch.
