Footnotes
PRINCESS ANASTASIA was checked sharply on the fence with the outside rivals coming over heading into the first turn, settled in midfield on the fence down the backside, started to uncork a rally two wide at the five sixteenths pole, angled out off the lead front two runners having aim three wide turning for home, closed in stoutly down the lane and powered past outside, surging in the final seventy yards for the win. CRYSTAL VISIONS had the fence tracking the lone speed on the first bend, chased the leader down the backstretch, started to reel in the frontrunner while just off the rail on the far turn at the two furlong marker, closed in between horses in the two path in the thick of things with a furlong to go, battled head to head with a sixteenth still to run but just did not have enough to fend off the winners outside late charge in deep stretch. PURR FACTOR cleared and crossed over heading into the first turn loose up top, rambled on all alone on the engine down the backside, slowed the pace down still on the front end by a good margin on the last turn by the quarter pole, had the fence in the drive quite still in control with an eighth of a mile from the prize but could not sustain the run and was caught by a couple of closing in runners in the final seventy yards. FORTYFIVESEVENTY had the rail sharing the back end to begin, made no movement along the back straight, remained on the fence taking the short way around the far turn making little impression, started to reach for more ground in the two path inside of horses in mid-stretch and finished up with good intent late to be a fringe player in the end. MADAME OBEY broke out at the start but was quickly wrangled in, travelled between horses in the trail trio in the early stages, could see the field on the far turn with a quarter mile still to run, shifted to the six-path turning for home but could only pass weary runners down the lane. ROMANTICA had the outside position in mid-pack for the first half of this two-turn race, could not make up any ground just off the rail in the final turn running, shifted to the three path straightening out for home but lacked a finish between runners in the drive to the wire. ASPEN DAWN hopped slightly then drifted in on the break with the rider falling back in the saddle being shuffled for a stride or two trailing under the wire for the first time, shifted outside two others going three wide on the initial bend sharing the rear, made no gain travelling three deep down the backside, made a brief run three wide midway on the final turn, angled to the four path in upper stretch between foes but tired in the final furlong.
