Footnotes
DELIAN LEAGUE had the fence ahead of only the troubled starter, advanced sharply inside of horses along the backside, glided up sitting behind the front pair on the fence by the quarter pole appearing to have plenty of horse, dated up the rail seizing control leaving the furlong pole and won going away impressively when crossing the finish line. CHANCEL assumed command from the inner post setting a soft opening quarter, became keen loose up front fighting the riders restraint quickening the tempo down the backstretch, remained up front but by a dwindling advantage two wide on the far turn at the quarter pole with a couple of runners closing in, had company on either side just clinging up top with a furlong to go, could not fend of the winner inside any longer by the sixteenth pole and faded late just saving the place share inside from a fast closing rival at the finish line. PET SOUNDS hopped on the break well back of the rivals heading into the first of two turns, remained at the rear end down the backside, still could see the field on the second bend, shifted to the three path coming with a rally, moved five wide at the furlong pole outside of all rivals and rushed home in deep stretch just missing with the powerful surge at the wire for the secondary award. AWE INSPIRED had an outside tracking position on the first turn, chased the lone speed down the backstretch, came under a busy ride but closed in on the far turn a quarter mile from home vying for the lead outside, shifted to the three path in the thick of things in upper stretch but evened out in the late going losing a three way contest between horses for the place share at the wire. C C'S KINGDOM travelled in mid-division with runners on either side for the first half of this two turn-route race, had the rail in the third flight at the half, shifted out coming with a brief rally at the quarter pole, had a chance for a piece of the prize while right behind the contesting trio up front at the furlong pole but could not find another gear late and flattened out on the fence in deep stretch. GOOD SIN tracked the loose leader on the rail early on, settled on the outside of the eventual winner watching the front two rivals midway down the backside, made no progression while scrubbed on in mid-pack along the last turn and tired in the four path in the late going. AUDAX MINOR travelled three wide close to the back on the initial bend, offered little change down the backside, saved ground but could not make any headway on the final turn and could not factor in the late running.
