CHAMPAGNE SUNDAY was in the mix in the two path initially, had a good spot being reined in watching the contesting trio inside at the half, was checked slightly acting greenly jumping up for a stride to two inside of runners at the three-furlong pole, got back into gear on the fence at the quarter pole, swung out widest in the five path for the stretch run, began to smartly reach for more ground coming on quickly by the furlong pole and drove by outside in the shadow of the wire for the late running score. RED DESTINY vied between horses early on, settled on the outside shadowing the pacesetter in the turn, took even closer order going head-to-head on the front end by the quarter pole through to upper stretch, edged clear putting away the inside speed rival by the sixteenth pole but could not withstand the winners late charge in deep stretch and just lasted with runners on either side at the wire for the runners up share. BENKA rated kindly being taken back off the lead threesome down the backstretch by the half having a tracking role outside, was scrubbed on three furlongs out advancing between runners by midturn, had the two path chasing the engaged duo straightening out for home, determinedly kept on coming in the final furlong to be a clear third while just missing inside at the finish line for the place share as well. CHARMING JACKIE was off slowly brushing the inside part of the gate at the break, took the lead inside under a hustling ride by the five eighths pole, had a neck in front at the half, continued up top by a slim margin with an outside rival hounding the pace throughout the turn and dueled on the fence at the top of the stretch inside runners until wilting in the final sixteenth holding for the minors in the end. FLATTER SUCCESS hopped at the break trailing the field while roused to stay interesting along the backstretch, made little progress while still urged on two wide throughout the turn, hugged the rail passing a weary outside foe turning for home but could no factor anymore in the stretch running. PRINCESS ANNA prompted the pace outside rivals in the beginning, tracked the lead duo while three deep at the half mile marker, travelled three wide around the turn but was going in the wrong direction by the quarter pole, emptied out in the four-path drifting inwards in upper stretch and could not make any impression the drive to the finish line.
