Footnotes
COUNTRYBOYSURVIVE stalked in mid-pack outside two others down the backstretch, ranged closer going three wide around the turn, shifted out looming boldly in the five path at the head of the lane, grinded away at the leader outside in the stretch drive and pulled away in deep stretch for the win. ELGIN PARK travelled three deep in the conversation up top leaving the chute, was under a snug hold pulling the rider closer midway down the back straight, poked his head in front outside in midturn, shook clear just off the rail straightening out for home but had no answer when the winner powered past on the outside in the final sixteenth. BRITISH ARTILLERY improved on the fence down the backside to sit in mid-division by the half, took the short way on the turn while poised edging up behind runners, shifted to the three path looking for running room in upper stretch, angled to the five path a furlong out finally getting a clear lane and finished up solidly to the wire being a clear but non-threatening third. SUNDAY'S WELL settled in midfield having horses on either side at the half mile pole, was roused but could not keep up between horses at the five sixteenths pole, co-trailed in the two path inside another turning for home but did not gibe in down the lane and resurged between foes late to settle on the fringes. FRAC RIGHT was well held sitting just behind the pacesetter with a half mile still to run, sat just off the fence watching the engaged duo throughout the turn, shifted out four wide between horses in the thick of things in upper stretch, dueled for the show award with the top pair having it to themselves in the final furlong but flattened out in the final sixteenth. AGILE DANCER was unhurried at the rear down the backside, began to pick up the bit scrubbed on for more three furlongs out catching up to the group three wide by the quarter pole, shared the rear still on the outside in upper stretch and could only manage to pass one rival in the drive that being the leg weary early leader at the wire. BIG BOLD AND FIRST darted away between horses for a clear advantage in the two path into the backstretch, had company outside up top at the half, relinquished the lead on the rail in midturn, was hard ridden unable keep up on the fence at the quarter pole and had little left in the late going folding inside horses in the final furlong.
