Footnotes
TWISTING PISTONS pressed the issue in the inside leaving the chute, got her head in front on the rail by the half, edged clear from the early speed rival outside by the five sixteenths pole, remained in control on the rail with company bearing down outside in mid-stretch but had more in reserve under a well rated ride and burst away again when asked for more in the final sixteenth of a mile cruising on home when crossing the finish line for the win. THAT GIRL ARTEMUS lagged at the back of the pack in the beginning, shared the rear inside another with a half mile from home, started to reach more ground midway along the turn on the fence picking up outside rivals, hugged the rail in the conversation up top in upper stretch, shifted to the two path in the final furlong and determinedly got up winning the duel outside for the secondary share in a tight photo. ONDINE LADY had a nice set up isolated behind the contesting duo when the field was sorting themselves out midway down the backside, was roused beginning a run going after the pacesetter on the turn at the quarter pole, angled out three wide making a bid for the leader in the thick of things outside at the furlong marker, was no match for the winner who had plenty left late by the sixteenth pole and was just caught on the last jump losing the place share at the wire. MRS. HOT SHOT co-trailed on the outside at the half mile pole, could see the field on the fence in the turn running, started to commence a rally having the three path at the head of the lane, ran on mildly through the stretch but could not threaten the front three at the finish line and settled on the fringes. NAUGHTY DESTINY had the rail position sitting in the middle of the pack, came under a ride just off the fence trying to hold position through the bend, shifted to the four path turning for home but could not get involved in the drive to the wire. MISTY EYED had a narrow lead outside in the beginning, battled outside surrendering the front by the half, could not go on up top with the winner getting away at the five sixteenths pole, gave way steadily between rivals in the later part around the turn and had nothing left to offer three wide in upper stretch. NO WHAMMIE settled on the outside in mid-division, travelled three wide but was going the wrong way spinning her wheels throughout the turn and came up empty in the four path in the stretch drive.
