ARMSTRONG was away alertly outside having a slim lead with two runners pressing the pace, opened up smartly with the rider sitting chilly in the saddle by midturn,, pulled away even further with ease midway down the lane and won in dominant style all u der only a hand ride at the finish line. COHERENCE rated kindly isolated in midfield down the backstretch, held position nudged along on the rail through the turn, skimmed the fence picking up the bit gaining on rivals in upper stretch and had his best stride late getting the runners up share albeit well behind the overpowering winner. HEAVEN'S CHAMPION had the inside position stalking close to the back of the pack, had little movement taking the shortest distance around the turn, shifted to the four path in upper stretch and closed belatedly getting up for the third place share in a strung out field at the wire. LIEUTENANT STAN settled on the outside near the rear, made a mildly three wide outside of horses midway through the bend, shifted to the four path for the drive to the finish line and ran on o paced but passed leg weary ones in the process to be a fringe player in the end. CRUCIAL TAUNT was part of the early mix having the fence, was in tight trying to hold position at the half, tracked on the turn I side but the winner was easily getting away at the five sixteenths pole. JMR SPEEDY ESCAPE leapt up slightly on the breaking trailing the pack down the backstretch, could not make any headway saved all the ground around the oval and could only pick up a very tired runner outside just before the finish line. CUT'EM LOOSE was hard ridden forcing the early pace between runners, could not keep up to the winner while chasing in vain outside another around the bend, angled out to the five path still in the mix for a small share in mid-stretch but ran out of gas and stopped by the seventy yard pole.
