Footnotes
B THE KING had a head in front on the fence with a host of others battling as well outside for the lead, edged clear with a half mile still to run, increased the advantage running well in hand uncontested at the midpoint of the turn, opened up at will down the lane and coasted on in never being asked for run at any point of the front running tally. BACCARO POINT had a nice set up trailing the embattled quintet along the backside galloping along while others were in a drive fighting up front, started uncork a rally inside foes at the three furlong pole, had to be throttled down getting checked losing its run at the five sixtheenths marker,, swung out widest in the five path at the top of the lane, was full of run getting back to gear by the furlong marker and bested the rest but was well behind the dominant winner at the finish line. INSTANT RESPONSE pressed the issue in the two path down the backside, still gave chase determinedly inside at the half, regressed on the rail slightly on the turn at the quarter but found another gear digging in stubbornly on the rail to come back in the final furlong inside of runners to capture the show award. SURE SHOT TIMBER was away a step slow then was bumped between soon afterwards as well, recovered quickly though to be in the four oath one of many scrambling for the lead down the backstretch in the beginning, tracked the front running winner outside another at the half and continued that throughout the turn, had the three path holding on to the second place share in upper stretch no match for the leader who was on cruise control up top by manny the furlong pole but could not find more late and faded in the final sixteenth of a mile. WILD EYES FOREVER was part of the group up top initially having the three path with runners on either side, took back off the pace with a half mile remaining, could not get anything going between foes in the back trio around the turn, could see the field three wide turning for home and could not be a factor in the drive. TEAM ALMASTY was five deep part of the early mix battling up top outside of four rivals, dropped back at the half, made a brief run improving three wide outside of foes midway along the turn but folded in the three path between rivals in the stretch running.
