Footnotes
GO GO ALEXANDER broke out on the start, had the fence in tandem with an outside foe tracking the lead trio,, began to make a move creeping up on the rail at the the three furlong pole, shifted out three wide lengthening stride coming to the lead pair at the quarter pole, grinded away on the leader whittling away its advantage by the sixteenth pole and inch away late for the hard fought win from a stubborn rival. NO CAPE had an awkward beginning but recouped to have a narrow lead on the rail under the wire for the first time, took back on the rail being reined in to let the outside dictate the pace down the backstretch, shifted outside by the half, regressed-engaged seizing command two wide outside by the five sixteenths pole, had the two path still holding on moving well at the furlong pole inside of rivals, kept trying gamely until the very end but gave way grudgingly to the winner in deep stretch. BORDER FOX had the fence sitting close to the back for the first half of this two turn event, moved in improving smartly on the rail through the far turn by the quarter pole, shifted outside four wide outside the contested lead duo posing a threat at the top of the stretch, was no match for the top duo when stalling at the furlong pole but still finished up strong enough to be a clear third at the wire. CELESTIAL HEART had a good spot keeping in close range of the lead trio while having the eventual winner pinned in on the inside, took closer order narrowing the margin at the half, went the overland route going three to four wide on the final bend keeping pace, had a chance in the five path if good enough at the top of the lane but could run one paced in the final furlong to settle in the fringes in the end. JOSHUA STRIKE broke in at the start, had trouble navigating the first turn going five wide while pressing the pace outside, got a head in front entering the ba stretch, opened up by the half, battled inside with the early pacesetter coming back on in the final bend two wide on the outside, hugged the rail still in the mix for a small share straightening out for the drive but yielded to outside foes at the furlong marker. FIN DEL MUNDO vied between runners heading into the first turn, sat all alone watching the engaged twosome down the backside,, could roused but offered little response around the last turn retreating between horses at the quarter pole and had little left to offer in the stretch drive. HIGH BEAM stalked in the third flight with runners on both sides, made little progress outside in the three oath the half, had to rail on the far turn making little impression and could not be a factor in the drive to the wire. FULL STAR was squeezed on the break trailing on the rail in the first turn, still remained at the rear down the back straight, could see the field travelling just off the fence in the second turn and could only manage to catch a tired foe late in the stretch running. OCEANOGRAPHY travelled three wide outside two others near the rear early on, could not gain on rivals through the ba stretch, made no gain just off the fence onthe last turn and in the three path emptied in the drive in the final furlong.
