DAKOTAH BLUE went three wide outside of horses in the first bend sitting in mid-pack, continued to gallop in a good rhythm finding her stride down the backside, was urged on the far turn at the quarter pole coming with a solid run, had a full head of steam in the six path in upper stretch, moved in sharply under a vigorous ride with a furlong to go, got her head in front with seventy yards from the prize and tenaciously held off the late charge outside by the runner up. BANDIAGARA (GB) was allowed to settle into stride on the fence trailing for the first half of this two turn route race, started to gather momentum shifting out two wide at the five sixteenth pole passing a tired runner, skimmed the fence at the head of the lane, switched leads shifting out opting to go widest for clear run in the seven path at the furlong pole full of run and rushed home on the outside but could not get to the winner in time. FLOWERHEAD (IRE) travelled in midfield just off the fence, closed the gap mildly down the backside, waited to go in the second flight outside the engaged duo midpoint of the final turn, angled to the four path posing a threat between rivals at the top of the stretch, fought on determinedly in the thick of things until deep stretch but was outkicked by the top two runners while capturing the show award not that far off the winner at the finish line. EMPTY HANDED broke out at the start, pressed the pace in the beginning, tracked the leader outside in the first of two turns, rated kindly keeping thee frontrunner in her sights down the backstretch, moved in outside bidding for the lead at the five sixteenths pole, seized control in the three path by upper stretch, stubbornly dug in clinging onto the lead with outside foes bearing down with a sixteenth left to run and just could not hold on late, fading coming up the wire in a flurry of a finish settling for only a minor share in a hard fought run. SMEXY (IRE) stalked just off the fence ahead of only one runner in the beginning, made little improvement inside rivals down the backside, was scrubbed on for more three wide at the three eighths pole making slight headway on the far turn, angled to the five path turning for home and had good late interest closing the gap in the final sixteenth of a mile but could not threaten at the finish line. ARETHA had a good spot nestled on the rail behind the pacesetter, continued to sit back just behind the frontrunner down the backside, remained inside another in range behind the dueling pair midway on the far turn, shifted out to the three path in the mix behind the leader at the top of the stretch bit could not find more in the late going and flattened out in the final seventy yards. HAPPY DESTINATION was hustled intent on the lead on the fence having a slim advantage in the beginning, shook loose along the backstretch slowing the tempo down, was collared outside midway around the turn, fought on for a short while on the fence by the top of the lane but had little left late and folded inside on runners by the furlong pole. SLIPPERS had the rail position stalking near the rear on the first turn, improved slightly down the backside narrowing the margin at the half, dropped back to last unable to quicken with the field at the five sixteenths pole and came up empty on the fence in the stretch running.
