ALFRED BELLOWS was well spotted having the fence sitting back if the embattled threesome, slide up in tight surroundings splitting runners two wide at the quarter pole bullying his way through, had the rail closing the gap in upper stretch still well back of the leader though, shifted to the two path with aim on the tiring rival up front in the late stages took control with seventy yards to go and just had enough left to hold on from the fast closing runner up at the wire. SOUPER STRIDER broke inwards on the start, settled at the rear inside another down tandem with an inside foe down the backstretch, started to gather speed two wide passing a runner outside at the three eighths pole, moved to the six path at the head of the lane finding his best stride late and charged home in the last furlong just missing with one final surge at the wire for the win. BIG LEW hounded the pace outside along the back straight, seized control getting a head in front going three wide into the turn, increased the advantage up top running around the bend, moved well still quite in control off the fence by mid-stretch but became leg weary in the final sixteenth of a mile only able to hold on for a clear third at the finish line. GOOD TO BE LUCKY was well position on the outside having the eventual winner hemmed in all the while watching the lead three do battle up front, ranged up smartly three wide around horses on the turn to be in the hunt turning for home but needed more late when evening out in the final furlong unable to threaten for the top three placings in deep stretch and settling on the fringes only in the end. GINGER'S HOLIDAY was crowded between rivals at the break, stalking outside the other troubled runner down the backside, came under a drive unable to make any advance around the turn, shifted to the five path straightening out for the drive and finished up with some late interest passing foes but could not get into contention. MACH TWO BLUE veered out onthe break and was taken hold of quickly, co-trailed inside another in the early going, still lagged behind the field entering the oval, passed an inside foe by the five sixteenths pole trying to come with a run, swung out widest in the seven path at the top of the lane but could not get involved in the stretch running outside. CLIVE CROSS was sandwiched between horses on the break, stalked near the rear inside another down the backside, dropped back to last in midturn and could only manage to pass a couple of,e of weakening runners who were used up fighting for the lead early on. LEMON TWIST pressed the lace between horses, was in tight having to be checked slightly between runners coming to the three eighths pole, tried to come back on making a brief rally three wide with a quarter mile from the prize , angled to the four path in upper stretch but tired in the last furlong. DILWAALA was roused on the fence having the early advantage, surrendered the lead inside at the seven sixteenths pole, gave futile chase on the rail through the turn with the leader getting away by the quarter pole and emptied out inside rivals by the furlong marker.
