SPEEDY FREEZE settled off the pace shifting in racing last but one up the backstretch, advanced midway on the turn racing in behind runners coming into upper stretch, shifted out seven wide in mid-stretch, kept on rallying outside to drive past late. GRADE A moved up racing between foes in the second flight, was a bit keen between runners at the five-eighths fighting restraint, went three wide on the turn moving out for room in upper stretch, bid between foes late but was outfinished. VEERY was quick to take the lead, set the pace from off the rail, drifted out in late stretch and was outfinished. WAR SIGNAL got away well but was soon overtaken, shadowed the pacesetter from up close and to the outside going three wide on the turn, steadied in late stretch as that rival came out in front. NANTUCKETS DAY dropped back trail from off the inside, swung seven to eight wide into upper stretch and passed tired rivals. PURR FACTOR steadied slightly at the start, moved up outside to race mid-pack four wide into the turn, was asked by the five-sixteenths, swung seven wide into upper stretch, faded thereafter. ROMANTICA tracked inside racing up close saving ground, came up empty. FOLLOWING A STEWARDS' INQUIRY AS WELL AS OBJECTION BY THE RIDER OF WAR SIGNAL AGAINST VEERY ALLEGING INTERFERENCE, THE LATTER WAS DISQUALIFIED FROM THIRD AND PLACED FOURTH BEHIND THE FORMER.
