Footnotes
ARTEMUS CITYLIMITS was fleeted footed at the start while hand loose up top shortly after leaving the gate, rolled along throughout the turn just off the rail with little pressure applied from his chasing rivals, shifted out to the three path for the stretch run, edged away when urged on while staying on the incorrect lead at the furlong pole and still finished up smartly to hold sway for the frontrunning victory. OUTLAW KID was away alertly on the start, dropped back off the early pace on the fence to be near the rear at the half mile pole, shifted out coming with a run three wide in midturn, swung out widest in the six path finding his best stride late, closed in solidly in the final furlong getting the place share late but was unable to pose a threat to the winner at the finish line. LIGHT THE LAMP bobbled on the break, recouped advancing through the backstretch to sit back off the lead three runners with a half mile remaining, made a bold move circling around horses sharply three wide on the turn, posed the only threat to the winner outside in the four path turning for home, could not match strides by the furlong pole, dueled fore the place share trying to hold on in deep stretch but got nabbed outside at the wire having to settle for the show money instead. DARK SCREEN was forwardly placed initially tracking on the outside, got shuffled back unable to quicken with foes at the midpoint of the turn, angled out five wide at the top of the stretch, battled between horses in the late going for the place share but was on the losing end of the three way duel for second at the wire. COST OF WAR travelled at the tail end while in the four path outside of the pack, could not make up any ground spinning his wheels outside while going three to four wide around the oval, shifted to the five-path straightening out for home, moved to the tw path for the last furlong but failed to fire in the late running. MISTER BLUE chased the pacesetter on the rail along the back straight, rated kindly under a good hold taking the shortest way through the bend drafting behind the pacesetter, hugged the rail in the mix at the top of the lane but faltered on the rail having little to offer in the drive in the last eighth of a mile.
