Footnotes
GALLEY HEAD had a tracking role outside rivals going four wide heading into the first turn, settled into stride in the second flight outside another keeping a close eye on the dueling front pair at the half, closed in when urged for more midway on the last turn to loom boldly on the outside in the four path turning for home, drifting in seizing control leaving the eighth pole and while not switching leads down the lane held sway at the wire for the win. KATHERINE'S GEM bobbled on the break, recouped quickly to be prominent angling in travelling between runners in the mix up top after the start, settled in midfield on the fence along the backside, began to pick up the bit shifting out at the quarter pole, had aim five wide on the engaged trio at the top of the stretch and closed belatedly unable to get to the winner besting the rest for the runners up share at the finish line. WICKED MERCURY was checked soon after the start when in tight coming under the wire for the first time, trailed the field in the early stages, started to make a move passing a rival inside on the fence at the quarter pole, angled out five wide coming with a solid late run down the stretch and got up late to capture the show money unable to threaten the winner at the wire. LADY IN RED took this field on the fence into the first turn, continued up top setting a brisk pace while hounded outside down the backstretch, maintained a slim advantage inside through the last turn, was collared outside by a couple of rivals turning for home, gave way to the winner by the furlong marker and faded inside horses with seventy yards to go losing a couple of positions late. IRON PYRITE had a good spot drafting behind the leader early on, travelled on the rail watching the embattled duo down the backside, waited to move on the fence behind the front threesome at the quarter pole, had a fence seam in the mix up top at the furlong marker but could not find more late to punch through inside in the late running. VOICE FROM ABOVE moved up in the two path between horses to track the pacesetter into the first turn, took closer order to shadow the leader outside down the backside, chased outside through the final bend, vied between runners in the three path up front in upper stretch and yielded losing her path to winner as well as others leaving the furlong marker. KID GIZMO had the rail close to the back of the pack in a stalking trip, made little movement inside foes on the rail early through the far turn, offered a mild run at the quarter pole to be in contention for a piece of the prize in the two path just behind the trio of battling leaders at the top of the lane but could not continue the rally and flattened out in the final furlong inside rivals. HOLIDAY WITH AMY stalked outside another in the early stages near the rear, dropped back on the far turn to trail the field with a quarter mile to run and could not factor three wide in the stretch running.
