Footnotes
ITS IN THE CARDS had a good spot getting to the rail watching the engaged duo early on, pulled the rider closer drafting just a couple of lengths behind the pacesetter at the half, waited patiently on the fence in tight quarters with the pack bunching up midway on the last turn, sharply angled out five wide finding a seam straightening out for the drive and wore the leader down in the closing stages to edge away for the win. NIGHT STRIKER travelled on the outside moving comfortably in the third flight three wide in the early going, moved to the leader three wide making a bid at the three eighths pole, seized control inside with a quarter mile from home, stayed on the wrong lead trying to hold off the outside winner down the lane but was caught in the final seventy yards taking the runners up share at the finish line. LET'S GO LIAM co-trailed inside another in the beginning, was pushed out by the inside rival entering the backstretch, made little movement outside by the half, circled four wide with a smart turn of foot at the quarter pole, dueled outside with the winner down the stretch until the sixteenth pole and evened out late capturing the show money. MICHAELS GIFT was bounced around in tight on the fence coming up to the three quarters pole on the first turn while stalking near the rear, narrowed the margin shifting outside at the half mile marker, came with a sharp move splitting foes three wide at the quarter pole to be in the conversation up tp turning for home but could only finish up mildly in the last eighth of a mile inside foes to settle on the fringes at the wire. RINGINTHEHOLIDAY stumbled badly on the break, recouped to stalk near the rear travelling three wide outside foes around the first turn, closed the gap on the leader but was unable to gain position by the half, circled four wide around rivals making a strong move on the second turn to be in the mix at the top of the lane, could not sustain the rally by the furlong marker and stalled in deep stretch. AIM DON'T MISS had the fence position in midfield, improved slightly inside runners by the half, tried to commence a rally between foes but was in tight at the five sixteenths marker losing momentum dropping back, angled out five wide at the head of the lane but lacked a rally in the final furlong. MONSTER MACHINE co-trailed on the outside in the first turn, was forced out seven deep entering the backstretch, lagged behind rivals around the last turn and kept trying down the lane to pass some weary ones down the stretch. CARRICK ON STAGE pressed the pace inside heading into the initial bend, reined back to track the frontrunner outside midway down the backside, was scrubbed on trying to hold forward position between foes in the fray up top midpoint of the final turn, had little left for the drive and retreated four wide turning for home between horses. UPHILL ROAD settled close to the back between runners stalking in the early stages, shifted out sharply outside entering the backstretch, tried to rally up the fence into the far turn, shifted out four wide around horses at the quarter pole, darted back inside just off the rail in upper stretch but could not factor in the late running. HAPI EKATI narrowly had the front just off the fence around the first bend, cleared up top going down the backstretch, was collared outside having no answer at the quarter pole, folded by the furlong marker and cantered across the finish line.
