Footnotes
DESIGN had the rail sitting in mid-division in the first half of the race, inched up still taking the shortest way around on the last turn, scraped paint full of run at the top of the stretch, charged past runners inside taking command by the sixteenth pole and held on from a fast-oncoming rival at the finish line. DAZZLING CRUISER trailed the field being checked mildly for an instant going into the first bend, made little progression finding her stride down the backstretch, had a sharp move circling around horses five wide at the quarter pole, was gaining outside rivals in the six path in upper stretch, switched leads finding another gear at the eighth pole and was gobbling up ground late but could not get to the winner in time. ONEHOTMESS was brushed inside on the break, pressed the issue inside the leader heading into the first of two turns, let the leader who was on a mission up top go ahead with it down the backside, closed in just off the fence on the leader on the final bend to be four wide in the hunt straightening out for home, dug in tenaciously fighting up top with a furlong to go and finished up willingly late to be a clear third at the wire. NORTH YORK had an outside position tracking the top two in the early stages, watched the loose leader outside foes down the back straight, came under a ride in the third flight outside on the running around the last oval and finished up evenly between runners in the final furlong to be a fringe player in the end. SILENT STRIKE broke out on the start, settled in midfield outside another in the beginning, was part of the tracking group going three deep outside foes at the half, narrowed the margin three wide outside rivals midway on the far turn, shifted five wide in the thick of things between horses in upper stretch but stalled with a sixteenth left to run. AFLEET FLATTER broke a step slow on the start to have a stalking role three wide outside runners in the early going, made little movement ahead of a couple on rivals down the backside, had a brief spurt of energy closing the gap three wide at the quarter pole, angled to the four path turning for home and finished with late interest on the fence in deep stretch gaining on runners crossing the wire. TIZ READY set the pace up top around the initial bend, was well ahead of the closest rival while setting a rapid pace unopposed down the backstretch, had a dwindling lead on the fence by the quarter pole, shifted three wide clinging up front still in upper stretch but had little left for the late running and was engulfed by runners on either side by the sixteenth pole. LEMON SWEETS co-trailed on the outside on the first turn, lagged well behind seeing the field down the back straight, lost touch with the group through the running on the final bend and galloped along down the lane across the finish line.
