Footnotes
TWISTING PISTONS was loose up top setting a soft opening first quarter, dictated terms having a slim lead offering an even tempo down the backstretch, edged away from the early challenger at the five sixteenths pole getting a breather on the far turn, shifted just off the fence in command at the head of the stretch and under a well rationed out ride just had enough left in reserve to hold on for the frontrunning victory. THATSITTHATSALL had the rail position watching the frontrunner, was under a snug hold travelling well in the second tier on the fence down the backside, closed the gap when nudged inside foes at the quarter pole, angled out with aim on the leader four wide turning for home and valiantly tried but could not reel in the winner who had something left in the late stages. HURRICANE GIZMO was unhurried seeing the field going three wide on the first of two turns, improved outside horses going four deep down the backside, continued the wide journey advancing three wide outside foes on the second bend, moved in making a sharp move four wide at the quarter pole to be in the mix in the five path for the drive and still kept on coming down the lane to capture the third place share at the finish line. SERENADING AMAYA had the rail near the rear in the early stages, stalked in the third tier on the fence down the backside, edged up inside foes in the two path on the far turn closing in by the quarter pole, skimmed the rail entering the lane, shifted out to the three path in the hunt in upper stretch and fought on stubbornly inside rivals late just losing the nod at the wire for the show award. TAKE CHANCES was in tight in the two path close to the rear with runners on both sides in the first turn, travelled between foes in the third flight along the backside making little headway, had to wait for a few strides in tight quarters again with five sixteenths from home, shifted out six wide having a clear lane at the top of the stretch but failed to fire in the final furlong. DANCING IN RIO settled in the three path between rivals close to the back of the pack on the first bend, made no movement along the backstretch, mounted a rally four wide having a quarter mile left to run, angled out in the eight path in upper stretch but had no impact in the late running. RIGHT BRIGHTLY had a stalking role going four wide outside foes on the first turn, made little progression between horses down the backside, was shuffled back slightly at the half, tried to commence a run going five wide around horses at the quarter marker, was pushed out to the nine path straightening out for home and could not be a factor in the stretch run. SPIRIT O'TIPPERARY was forwardly placed between runners keeping a close eye on the leader into the first turn, settled into stride in the second flight outside down the backstretch, came under a ride but was back pedaling three wide between foes midway on the final bend and had little to offer in the stretch running. ALL FOR HONOR dwelt at the start spotting the field many lengths in the beginning, trailed by many along the backside, lagged behind the group on the final bend but did show some grit to pick up a leg weary runner right at the finish line. POWAQA tracked the pacesetter three wide on the first turn, took closer order on the outside to shadow the leader down the back straight, could not quicken with the front running winner by the five sixteenths pole while under a drive and folded in the four path in upper stretch. STEWARDS GENERAL INQUIRY ON THE BREAK REGARDING #7 ALL FOR HONOR WAS DEEMED TO HAVE RECEIVED A FAIR START. This race had a timing malfunction or discrepancy and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
