Footnotes
PERFECTWORKS was forwardly placed tracking the leader inside another early on, moved up to flank the pacesetter outside down the backstretch, took over control outside a quarter mile from home, edged away three wide in upper when asked for more and was kept to the task to hold safe for the win in deep stretch. ACCELERANDO settled near the rear in the early going, improved on the rail nestled in mid-pack around the first turn, had inside position in the second flight at the half, was looking for a seam behind the embattled duo at the quarter pole, was in tight surroundings in the three path at the top of the stretch, stubbornly burst through runners at the furlong pole with a sharp turn of foot and was running on end late but could not get to the winner in time. TORONTO CITY was unhurried at the rear in the beginning, stalked between foes in the back trio through the first turn, made little movement ahead of only one runner down the back straight, co-trailed on the outside with the field paired up at the three furlong pole, swung out widest in the six path at the top of the lane finding his best stride late and was gaining in deep stretch capturing the show money while almost getting the runners up share at the wire. KING ROSSO settled at the back going three wide on the outside on the first of two bends, rated kindly under a good rhythm seeing the field down the backstretch, took the short way around in the third pairing on the second turn, burst up the fence posing the main opposition at the eighth pole, took an awkward step losing action as well as momentum with a sixteenth remaining and could not recover in time to factor late. LONG ACTING travelled three wide on the outside watching the frontrunner around the first turn, settled into stride in the second flight outside another along the backstretch, was poised three wide outside horses on the far turn with a quarter mile to run, shifted out in the thick of things four wide turning for home but failed to fire stalling between rivals in the final furlong. CHASING MEMORIES was loose up top having the rail on the initial bend, had a slim lead slowing the tempo down inside down the back straight, was hard ridden surrendering the lead to the winner outside at the quarter [pole, had little left to offer in the two path between foes in the drive and folded by the furlong pole. POLITICAL WARFARE stumbled badly to his knees on the break dislodging the rider at the start, got back up and walked off. STEWARDS GENERAL INQUIRY REGARDING THE START RESULTED IN NO CHANGE
