Footnotes
TABLOID MATERIAL stalked close to the back of the pack in the early stages, began to reach for more ground when nudged at the five sixteenths pole, made a sharp swooping move six wide turning for home, powered past foes one by one outside down the stretch and took control with a sixteenth left to run for the win under a well-timed stretch move. SINCLAIRITY was reined back inside foes into the backstretch, travelled comfortably on the rail in the second tier at the half, dropped back slightly at the three furlong pole, moved closer in hand measuring the leaders looking for a path at the quarter marker, lacked running room three wide in upper stretch, finally had a clear lane by the furlong pole and came with a strong late run in deep stretch to just miss out for the win at the wire. HAPPY VALENTINE watched the front duo leaving the chute, kept a close eye on the dueling pair between runners at the half, advanced on the turn closing in at the quarter pole, bid three wide with runners on both sides straightening out for home, had her head in front staying on the lead left through the lane and faded at the seventy yard pole to hold for the show award. GIVE ME THE BOOTS was hustled from the onset dueling outside for the top spot, took over control outside three furlongs from home, had a dwindling advantage in the two path at the top of the stretch and faded inside runners in the last furlong to hold for a minor role in the end. SOCIETY'S KAT was off a step slow trailing in the beginning, improved between rivals down the backstretch to track three deep in the second flight at the half, edged up three wide outside foes in midturn, angled out four wide in the hunt turning for home but evened out in the final eighth of a mile. RARIFIED (IRE) narrowly dictated the pace inside along the back straight, relinquished the lead to the outside pursuer at the three eighths pole, tried to fight back saving all the ground on the turn still being in the mix on the fence at the head of the stretch but had little left in the drive and wilted by the furlong marker. BEACH READY was allowed to settle into stride going five deep outside foes at the back of the pack going into the backstretch, took the short way around the turn making no headway, shifted to the four path for the drive to the wire but could not get involved in the stretch running.
