Footnotes
LIGHT THE LAMP had a nice set up isolated under a patient ride on the fence watching the contesting twosome down the backstretch, closed in well in hand ready to move on the fence at the quarter pole, shot through having the fence with an eighth of mile to go and held on comfortably for the win at the finish line. GIANT TEDDY had the fence in a stalking role ahead of only one rival down the back straight, took closer order reaching for more ground in the two path mounting a rally at the quarter pole, shifted out four wide outside foes full of run in the stretch and ran on strongly to the wire but was just second best on this day to the winner who had an ideal trip. ARTEMUS CITYLIMITS forced the issue on the outside in the early going, remained a thorn in the frontrunners side hounding the pace outside around the bend, shifted out three wide between horses in the thick of things in upper stretch, was no match for the top pair late but did finish up well enough to be a clear but distant third at the wire. SILENT RESERVE was hustled having a slim lead inside down the backstretch, continued to have his head in front on the rail through the turn, had little left when engulfed by horses on both sides in the two path at the furlong marker and faded inside late to settle for a minor role in the end. JET SWEEP JOE lacked early foot trailing the field along the backside, lagged well behind in the running around the turn, lost touch with the group turning for home and galloped across the wire.
