Footnotes
CUT'EM LOOSE had a good spot all alone watching the contesting duo along the backside, travelled in the second flight moving well measuring the front pair at the half, closed in outside on the top two by the quarter pole, pounced four wide straightening out for home and pulled away at the furlong marker for the comfortable win. SOUPER ICONIC had the rail in midfield in the beginning, improved inside to track the contesting pair by the half, was nudged on midturn but could not match strides with the eventual winner outside around the bend, angled to the four path determinedly kept on coming down the lane and got up to best the rest for the runners up share just before the finish line. GOLDEN TEST had early lead inside leaving the chute, prompted the wind aided quick pace outside along the backstretch, moved in to assume command with a quarter mile to go, offered no resistance to the winner outside by the eighth pole and could not hold the secondary spot by the late charging rival outside in the shadow of the wire. CLIVE CROSS stalked between horses in the three-path close to the back, lagged behind the field through the turn, picked up the bit under a vigorous ride at the quarter pole, swung out widest gathering momentum five wide at the top of the stretch and closed in belatedly to nab the inside rival at the wire to settle on the fringes in the end. VERY DEBONAIRE stalked near the rear between foes down the backstretch, saved ground making little headway around the oval, hugged the rail turning for home, shifted out three wide off the tiring early leader in upper stretch, stayed on the incorrect lead down the lane and just lost the duel for the minors at the finish line. DOADSTER was unhurried trailing the at the break, mildly advanced four deep down the backside by the half, made little progress three wide outside foes through the bend, shifted out to the five path for the drive but showed little in the stretch run. FOURLEGSGOOD was hustled on the inside to get to the front midway along the backstretch, battled inside for the top spot around the turn, surrendered the front while being scrubbed on for more inside at the quarter pole, folded on the fence in upper stretch and galloped home in the final furlong.
