Footnotes
STREGA assumed the lead travelling three wide in a moderate pace into a headwind on the first turn, was content giving way up top hounding the pacesetter inside down the backstretch, came back on taking control by the half, was under a ride keeping a dwindling advantage by the quarter pole, angled out five wide straightening out for the drive, drifted out under left handed encouragement clinging onto the lead at the furlong pole and edged away to prevail at the wire for the win. KEY STROKE shared the rear inside another in the first half of this route race, edged up on the rail through the far turn, skimmed the fence turning for home and found another gear having late energy inside down the lane to get up at the wire besting the rest. I HAVE AN IDEA travelled four wide just behind the lead pair on the first bend, settled into stride outside a rival in the second flight down the back straight,, dropped back positions between foes three furlongs from home, resurged three wide outside horses with a quarter mile to go, angled from the five path to be three wide to be in the thick of things by mid-stretch, could not get to the winner by the sixteenth pole and just missed out for the second place share by the late charging inside foe at the finish line. PICKFORD SWEET was antsy in the stall prior to the start, tossed her head on the break trailing on the rail early on, improved inside in the first turn to track the engaged pair on the fence along the backside, moved in sharply shifting out at the quarter pole to loom a menacing presence when forced out five wide by the leader at the top of the lane, could not sustain the run and stalled outside rivals by the furlong pole to settle for a minor role at the finish. MAKAYLA co-trailed on the outside in the early stages, tried to put in a run circling runners four wide midway on the far turn but could only manage to pass a weary foe outside in upper stretch. STORMY OCEAN forced the issue while pushed out four wide in the initial bend, pulled the rider outside to have her head in front down the backstretch, relinquished the top spot by the half, was roused for more but retreated in the three path between foes at the five sixteenths pole and had nothing left to offer inside horses two wide in the stretch run.
