COUNTRY LIVING was loose on the lead down the backstretch at the half, rolled along well in control through the turn, was pressured briefly outside in upper stretch but when asked had more to give at the furlong marker to hold safe for the frontrunning score. SECRET THREAT was unhurried trying to find his stride regressing outside rivals to co-trail at the half, had a sharp turn of foot circling horses three wide midway around the bend, found a seam posing the main threat in upper stretch, was gaining gradually on the leader late but did not have enough to get to the winner while fighting the strong headwind in the lane. BACKONTHECHAINGANG had an outside position in the middle of the pack, picked up the bit when urged with five sixteenths outside narrowing the margin, shifted out five wide in the mix on the outside of challengers straightening out for home but could only finish up mildly to settle for the show money in the end. CAUGHT SPEEDING was content to sit back off the lone speed down the back straight, was urged but made little gain chasing the pacesetter around the turn, took closer order to offer a mild bid three wide at the head of the stretch, was repelled by the winner with a sixteenth to go and faded inside losing a couple of placings in the late stages. COOLER MAN broke a step slow trailing in the beginning, picked up a runner inside leaving the half mile marker, was relegated to the back of the pack again by the five sixteenths pole, spurted up the fence a quarter mile from the wire to be in with a chance for a share turning for home but evened out inside foes in the final sixteenth. LITTLE RED DOMI travelled on the inside of another in the third flight early on, could not accelerate in the two path between horses losing forward position at the quarter marker, dropped back inside at the top of the lane and could not get involved between foes in deep stretch. RY PIE had a stalking role ahead of a couple of runners down the backside, was passed by rivals on either side on the turn to see the field by the quarter pole and failed to menace outside foes three wide in the stretch running.
