Footnotes
OCEAN ATLANTIQUE travelled between runners in midfield, continued on in the middle of the pack outside rivals down the back straight, was asked for more at the five sixteenths pole picking up the bit sharply making a rally with a quarter mile from the wire and was full of run in the three path down the lane to sweep by the leader in an instant to win going away in the last sixteenth of a mile. ITSASTORMYMONDAY hounded the pace while being pushed outside four wide by the leader entering the first bend, continued to be a thorn in the frontrunners side down the back straight, battled outside in the far turn getting the better on the pacesetter edging away by the quarter pole, opened up well in control by upper stretch but could not find more late to stave off the strong late charge by the winner in the late stages. UNCAPTURED MOMENT had the fence getting a tracking trip watching the lead pair, continued sitting inside in the second tier along the backside, started to get into gear midway on the last turn, shifted out four wide for the stretch run and ran on willingly in the final eighth of a mile to be a clear but distant third at the wire. C MY MEISTER stalked three wide on the outside in the first turn, made no improvement still close to the back of the pack at the half mile marker, started to pick up horses outside by the quarter pole, swung out widest in the five path straightening out for home and found his best stride late to get up being a fringe player outside rivals at the finish line. CHAIRMAN BOB stalked in the third flight having the fence in the early stages, took the short way around the far turn making little movement inside foes, shifted just off the rail two wide and finished with late energy between horses trying to get a minor placing. BLAST IN THE SNOW tracked the duo outside on the initial bend, settled into stride in the second flight outside another foe down the backstretch, made a brief rally trying to narrow the gap on the lead pair with five sixteenths from home, shifted to the two path in the mix for a piece of the prize turning for home, had little to offer for the drive and wilted on the fence in deep stretch. FUN FELLA stalked near the rear three wide early on, trailed the group along the backstretch, still could see the field making little impact around the final bend and passed a weary early leader outside with a furlong from home. BLANCO had the lead setting the pace well off the rail into the first turn, had a narrow lead on the inside down the backstretch, dueled on the rail in what seemed to be a match race quickening the tempo along the far turn, gave way up top by the quarter pole and faltered on the rail by the furlong marker.
