Footnotes
UPHILL DANCE settled into a good rhythm sitting just behind the leader down the back straight, dropped back slightly to mid-pack with a rival making an outside move early on the turn, waited on the fence for the rider's order to go by the five sixteenths pole, pounced splitting horses three wide at the top of the lane and overpowered the pacesetter by the furlong pole taking control outside and drew off in deep stretch for the convincing win. MISS BODACIOUS (GB) broke inwards but was away alertly to be loose up top leaving the chute, rolled along unopposed down the backside setting only a moderate pace up front, continued moving well up top quickening the tempo around the bend, was collared outside while in the two path straightening out for home, fought on inside until the furlong marker unable to keep up to the winner late and finished up strong enough to hold on easily for the runners up share at the wire. ECSTASY was pushed in by the outside foe on the break, tracked the frontrunner outside another rival down the backside, chased the leader to no avail going two the three wide outside horses on the bend, shifted out four wide turning for home, was no match for the front duo by the furlong pole but did win the battle for the show money outside by a head nod at the finish line. HOSHIANA (FR) broke a step slow plus was brushed outside on the start to trail in the beginning, pulled the rider up the rail while fighting the restraint midway on the backstretch, was nudged for more at the back of the pack inside another at the three eighths pole, saved ground making little improvement on the turn, hugged the rail straightening for home and finished up mildly in the final furlong to just miss out at the finish losing the nod for third place inside at the wire. MAY MAY STRONG had a stalking role three deep outside horses, co-trailed outside with three furlongs still to run, shifted to the four path unable to close the gap in the pacesetter at the quarter pole, swung out widest in the five path for the stretch drive but showed little outside foes in the late running.
