Footnotes
SHOTGUN WEDDING was situated on the outside in mid-division down the backside, picked up the bit when urged to go three wide at the quarter pole, angled five wide outside rivals having a clear run gathering speed exiting the turn, charged outside foes down the lane and drove on by taking the lead at the sixteenth pole to edge away for the win at the finish. PROMISING was unhurried co-trailing inside another at the half, burst between rivals sharply with strong momentum at the quarter pole, bullied her way through four wide at the top of the lane dueling up front, was in tight quarters battling for the win at the sixteenth pole but settled for second best this day at the wire in a close finish. BILES (IRE) seized command from the onset, was well in hand inching away from the early rival on the turn at the quarter marker, had control on the fence in upper stretch, was clinging onto the lead with rivals bearing down at the furlong marker, drifted out dueling inside at the sixteenth pole but needed more late giving way in deep stretch and settled for the clear show award in the end. PERIWINKLE broke a step slow to trail in the beginning, started to get into gear narrowing the margin shifting outside foes at the quarter pole, swung out widest six wide turning for home and finished on the wrong lead still showing interest to pass weary horses for a minor role in the final seventy yards outside. MIRAMICHI had the inside position in the middle of the pack along the backside, improved slightly under a ride saving all the ground around the bend, was looking for room just off the rail in with a chance for a share straightening for home but tired inside rivals in the last eighth of a mile. FAMILY hounded the pace on the outside down the backstretch, was roused with five sixteenths from the wire but could not gain chasing the pacesetter around the turn, shifted out three wide for the stretch run, had little left and folded by the furlong marker. RIDERS CLAIM OF FOUL #2 PROMISING AGAINST #6 SHOTGUN WEDDING DOWN THE STRETCH WAS DISALLOWED
