Footnotes
KEYNOTE SPEAKER had a poor start spotting the field on the break, was roused under the wire for the first time trying to get into the race, caught up to the pack midway down the backside, rallied four wide around foes at the five sixteenths pole with the pace faltering, loomed boldly in the six path, widest entering the stretch, seized control drifting inwards pulling away on the rail leaving the furlong pole and held safely for the win at the wire. MESSY RIDING assumed command easily crossing over clearing away on the fence around the first turn, slowed the pace down unopposed along the backside, bunched up the field slackening the tempo even more holding on up top at the quarter pole, offered no resistance when the winner swept past outside in upper stretch, shifted to the three path at the furlong pole to get clear run, closed back in late but it was not enough to threaten for the win at the finish line. CELESTIAL HEART had the rail sitting near the rear, advanced smartly up the fence by the half, moved in at the quarter pole saving all the ground around the far turn, shaved the corner in the conversation inside foes in upper stretch, was no match for the overpowering winner by the furlong pole, fought on for the place share late but crossed the wire all alone settling for the show money instead. WONDERFUL QUALITY had the rail in close pursuit of the frontrunner, contently sat isolated off the pacesetter down the backside, came under a drive chasing the leader on the final bend two wide, shifted to the three path for the stretch run but could only finish up one paced down the lane capturing a minor award. MANN COURT travelled two wide on the first bend close to the back, made no movement outside of runners along the back straight, closed the gap coming with a run three wide at the quarter pole, was in tight having the four path between horses at the head of the lane but could not get involved lacking a rally in the final furlong. WILD EYES FOREVER tracked the loose leader outside initially, settled into stride still outside in the third flight keeping aim on the front two rivals in the backstretch running, was going the wrong way three wide at the five sixteenths pole, resurged between horses briefly five wide at the quarter pole, stayed on the incorrect lead through the drive and folded by the eighth pole.
