Footnotes
LUPA (IRE) was loose on the lead unchallenged on the rail, was hard held wanting to go setting basically an even tempo still all alone up top down the back straight, pulled away from the closest rival at the three eighths pole being let out a notch, hugged the rail well in control entering the stretch and increased the margin of victory pulling away impressively in the final furlong. FANTASTICAL had the rail position sitting behind the pacesetter on the first turn as well as through the backside, started to make a run reaching for more ground shifting outside at the five sixteenths pole, posed the only threat two wide turning for home and gave chased in earnest through the stretch but was second best on this day. WAR PAINTER was unhurried trailing the field in the two path, lagged well behind settling into stride down the backstretch, started to make a move closing the gap two wide on the far turn with a quarter mile from the wire, shifted out to the three path in the mix at the head of the lane but could only finish up evenly to be a distant but clear third at the wire. HURRICANE CLAIR veered inwards having to be taken up for a stride or two leaving the gate, recouped to be three wide between rivals in the mix up top heading into the first of two turns, settled on the outside of another sitting in mid-pack, co-trailed on the outside of another while three wide around the last turn, swung out widest to the five path for the drive to the finish line but could only manage to pass a tiring inside foe at the furlong pole. SERENDIPITY travelled four wide on the initial bend tracking the pacesetter, sat outside off the frontrunner keeping her in her sights but applying little pressure on the stablemate down the backside, could not make any gains going two wide in tandem with an inside foe in midturn, shifted to the four-path turning for home and folded inside at the furlong pole.
