Footnotes
HOLIDAY SNOOZE had a good spot nestled on the rail watching the lead duo early on, settled into stride seeing the compact group at the half, was nudged along getting into gear at the three eighths marker, shifted out three wide with a quarter mile to run coming with a run, had a full head of steam widest in the five path turning for home and drew away convincingly in the final furlong for the win. STARVIN had a stalking role outside on the first turn, took closer order between foes with the field bunching up at the half, rallied around horses three wide with a quarter mile to run to battle between horses up front at the top of the lane, was no match for the overpowering winner at the eighth pole but did finish up strongly to be a clear second best at the finish line. BEACH FACTOR hit the outside part of the gate on the break to trail in the beginning, improved three deep outside rivals down the backside, tried to circle around horses four wide to no avail on the far turn, was relegated to the back of the pack outside foes by the quarter pole and while in the four path in the drive resurged late to get up for the show money a few jumps before the wire. RUN MATTEO RUN prompted the pace outside on the initial bend, moved in vying with runners on both side for the lead at the half, dropped back from the lead group by the seven sixteenths pole, was roused in the last turn holding his own in mid-pack, shifted to the three path straightening out for home and ran on evenly down the lane to get up for a minor role in the end. DEVIL'S TONGUE was a little eager fighting the rider travelling in midfield in the beginning, tracked the front duo outside on the first turn, ranged up three deep outside down the back straight to bid for the lead by the half, edged clear up top under right-handed asking midway on the final bend, was clinging onto the lead inside rival two wide at the top of the lane, gave way to the lead two by the eighth pole and wilted inside horses in the final seventy yards losing a couple of positions very late. ALZADO was well in hand assuming command on the fence into the first bend, was shadowed outside slowing the soft pace down even further long the backstretch, relinquished the front by the three furlong pole inside, could not find more inside unable to keeps up to outside rivals making a rally with a quarter mile to run and emptied out on the fence buy mid-stretch.
