Footnotes
SIMCOE was hustled inside intent on getting to the front, seized control on the fence for a clear advantage by the half, was untouched setting a brisk pace around the oval, shifted out in the two path with challengers bearing down in upper stretch was resilient finding more at the furlong pole and fended off all comers in the late running. HORSEPOWER sat alone in mid-pack finding his stride, reached for more ground rallying inside midway around the bend, burst between rivals making a seam three wide in the hunt straightening out for the drive and never gave in to the wire but chased the winner home unbale to close the gap at the finish line. CRUDEN BAY was away slowly lagging well behind the group along the backside, closed the gap smartly taking the short way around the bend, caught up to the field by the top of the lane and had good late energy inside horses to surge late winning the photo for the show money inside. TWIN CITY had an inside trip in the second flight along the back straight, moved in closer by the three furlong pole, angled out in the thick of things four wide between foes in upper stretch but could only run on mildly in the last eighth losing the nod at the wire for third settling on the fringes instead in the end. I'M A GAMBLER (IRE) had the outside position in the second flight, was being passed on both sides with five sixteenths to go on the turn, shifted three wide for the drive, lacked a rally down the lane and finished up one paced in deep stretch. VICTORY ACHIEVED had the lead leaving the chute inside another, was content relinquishing the front inside to the eventual winner by the half , lost position while chasing the pacesetter at the three furlong pole, moved out still in the conversation in the six path between rivals at the top of the stretch but leveled out by the furlong pole. WICKED DJANGO broke in at the start, staled ahead of only the poor starter down the backside, made an eye-catching move three wide around foes in midturn to loomseven wide on the outside of rivals turning for home, could not sustain the sharp rally and weakened by mid-stretch.
