Footnotes
LOIS LEN was under a snug hold pulling the rider clear to the fence leaving the chute, continued on uncontested up top along the backside, rolled along moving comfortably feeling no pressure from others through the turn, disposed of the brief challenger outside at the top of the stretch amnd finished up strongly improving the margin of victory at the finish line. HARD TO CAPTURE had the outside position in the middle of the pack took closer order to track the leader outside with a half mile remaining, moved in just off the fence throughout the turn to pose the main threat four wide straightening out for the drive, was repelled by the winner who had more by the furlong pole but did ran on well enough late to clearly best the rest for the runners up share. IRON PYRITE had an inside tracking role down the backside watching the loose leader, inched closer taking the short way around the turn, angled out in the two path in the thick of things in upper stretch, was no match for the top pair by the eighth pole but did run on willingly in deep stretch to last at the wire for the show money. HOLIDAY WITH AMY bobbled on the break to stalk near the rear outside horses early on, offered a mild run circling three wide around rivals with five sixteenths from home to be in the mix in the five path in upper stretch, could not continue the rally and finished up one paced through the lane to be a fringe player in the end. KATHERINE'S GEM travelled outside another keeping a close eye on the frontrunner in the beginning, chased between foes at the half, could not quicken with others on either side midway around the bend, shifted four wide at the top of the lane, moved to the rail with a furlong to go but lacked a rally inside in the late running. HAY HAY PAULA broke a touch slow on the start, settled inside runners in mid-division along the backside was roused but regressed inside horses saving ground around the bend and could not get involved five wide in the stretch drive. CRUMLIN BEAST was unhurried trailing the field down the backside, came under a vigorous ride just outside in the two path making little gain by midturn, swung out widest in the six path turning for home but failed to fire outside foes in the late running.
