PHILLIP MY WINE had a nice spot tucked in on the rail behind the leader in the early on, rated kindly measuring the lead duo down the backside, shifted out off the fence at the three-furlong marker, rallied three wide around foes at the quarter pole, took control easily three wide turning for home and proved much the best drawing off by a good margin under mild handling. BOWMAN'S RUN was brushed inside on the break, stalked near the rear in the first turn, moved up inside foes by the half, edged up on the fence early in the far turn, angled out continuing the rally three wide at the quarter pole, was no match for the dominant winner down the lane but finished up strongly outside foes to clearly be second best at the wire. WELLER GREEN was allowed to settle sharing the rear inside another early, still could see the field finding his stride down the back straight, began to pick up the bit outside foes at the quarter pole, was full of run in the four path straightening out for home and with a strong late surge got up to capture third money just before the finish line. HERE I GO was loose up top on the first turn, set a lively pace while hounded outside along the backside, had a diminishing advantage on the turn, was collared outside offering no resistance to the winner in upper stretch, drifted out to the three path by the furlong pole getting weary and faded inside runners in the last seventy yards to just get nabbed in the final few jumps for the show money. THORNBURY tracked the lone speed outside on the first turn, narrowed the margin outside to flank the pacesetter by the half, was scrubbed on but could not gain on the contesting pair at the quarter pole, shifted off the fence from the tiring leader in upper stretch, had to angle back inside with a furlong to go but lacked a finish inside horses in deep stretch. LASTING SILENCE had the rail keeping a close eye on the frontrunner after the break, travelled alone in midfield through the first turn, made little headway along the backside, was unable to hold position outside another midway around the last bend and could not get involved having the three path in the stretch running. ADAPTED broke out on the start to co-trail outside in the beginning, improved slightly outside foes along the backstretch, was asked for more offering little response midway on the last turn and failed to menace inside rivals in the late running.
