Footnotes
LENNOX THE GREY broke a step slow, recovered to have a good spot nestled on the fence behind the leader, rated kindly waiting for the cue to move tucked in behind the pacesetter on the final oval, skimmed the rail at the top of the lane, darted through on the fence taking control at the furlong marker and edged away for the ground saving win. SOUPER DEBONAIR took advantage of the inside post having a slim lead on the rail into the first turn, shook loose slowing the pace down into a headwind down the backside, stayed in command under urging through the far turn, was clinging onto the lead while two wide at the top of the lane but could not fend off the late burst by the winner inside in the last eighth of a mile still comfortably besting the others for the second money. BUIUM stumbled on the break, had the rail stalking early on, improved slightly on the fence sitting in mid-pack by the half, started to make a run when roused to go on at the quarter pole, shifted to the two path looking for a seam in upper stretch, had clear run finally three wide at the eighth pole, could not challenge the lead duo in the late running but did surge in deep stretch inside to win the three way show photo inside. THUNDERMAKER pressed the issue outside in the beginning, sat just off the pacesetter outside down the backstretch, was sked for more run but was unable to cut into the margin by the quarter pole, angled out still in the mix three wide turning for home, fought on stubbornly with rivals on either side fighting for the show money but had to settle for a minor role in a picture at the wire. DEPUTY CURLIN sat outside another watching the lead pair, settled into a good rhythm outside in midfield along the backstretch, inched up outside foes three wide on the last turn, could not match strides with the lead pair while four wide in upper stretch and ran on willingly outside part of the trio battling for third place at the finish line. FLYONBYE was unhurried trailing in the early stages, saved ground but was making little impression through the last turn, angled four wide passing rivals inside turning for home but could not rally in the lane to get into contention in the last furlong. SPEIGHTS WILL settled near the rear between runners, moved out three wide on the last bend showing little rally while under a ride and failed to fire while widest outside horses in the six path in the late running. MIND AND MUSCLE took an awkward step stalking three wide heading into the first turn outside foes, still travelled outside rivals three deep along the backside making little headway, was urged three wide midway on the last turn unable to get into gear and nothing to offer in the four path when straightening out for the drive.
