Footnotes
SILVER IS BEST was patiently reined back off the contesting twosome entering the backstretch, tracked on the rail at the half, closed in well in hand just off the fence by the quarter pole, loomed menacingly angling out four wide in upper stretch and relentlessly wore down the leader outside down the lane to pull away for the win in the final sixteenth of a mile. B THE KING had a good spot isolated in midfield in the beginning, took closer order in the two path outside foes by the half, ranged up smartly three wide outside runners around the oval, pounced in the three path taking command in upper stretch but gave way grudgingly to the winner in deep stretch. BANK ON BIG WINNER hopped at the start to share the rear inside another down the backstretch, narrowed the margin on the lead group when picking up the bit with five sixteenths to go, found his best stride in the five path down the stretch, had no chance getting to the embattled lead duo with a furlong to go but with a late surge outside got up for the third place share just before the wire. BIG BOLD AND FIRST was away alertly having the early advantage, hounded the pacesetter outside throughout the turn, regained control with a quarter mile from home, surrendered the lead while inside horses at the top of the lane unable to quicken with the lead pair and faded further in the late running to just lose out holding on for the show money. KING RONIN pressed the issue inside, moved to the lead by the half, was hard ridden battling on the rail around the bend giving way up top by the quarter pole, had little left for the drive and tired on the fence in the last furlong. FIRSTGENERAL NIKAO was reluctant loading in the gate, broke slow to co-trail outside in the early going, dropped back behind the group through the turn, lost touch with the pack by the quarter pole, was eased through the stretch crossing the wire and walked off.
