Footnotes
SUNRISE DRIVE broke inwards at the start, sat well placed outside a rival watching the engaged pair along the back straight, started to come with a run three wide in midturn, pounced on the pacesetter at the top of the stretch, had a head in front with challengers bearing down with a furlong from home and under a vigorous ride found more in deep stretch to just prevail between horses at the wire. SECRET STORM had the two path between horses in the back quartet, made a sharp move bursting four wide between runners at the quarter pole, posed a serious threat outside in the five path entering the stretch, closed in steadily but was drifting in under right handed encouragement having to be taken a hold of for a stride or two coming up to the winner at the sixteenth pole and gave one final surge but was denied outside in a photo at the wire. GRAN SPIRITED had a nice set up situated on the rail inside another tracking the contesting duo, picked up the bit when roused on the fence midway along the oval, shifted out two wide at the quarter pole, bid for the lead between horses at the top of the stretch, continued to argue up top on the rail inside two others with a furlong to go bit could not get by the winner in a three way scramble at the finish line. MILITARY FORCE had the rail position in the rear foursome with a half mile still to run, narrowed the margin saving all the ground through the turn, shifted out to the three path just behind d the embattled leaders at the head of the lane but lacked a rally in the final furlong settling on the fringes in the end. MANNIX (IRE) was unhurried at the rear outside three runners down the back straightaway, made an early move trying circle around horses four wide at the seven sixteenths pole, continued widest around d the turn being pushed out five wide at the quarter pole, had the six path being further floated out straightening out for home kept on plugging away down the stretch but could not find another gear to threaten in the late running. HAPPY QUAD was situated in the three path between horses at the tail end, as checked slightly between foes at the seven sixteenths pole dropping back to last through the bend, scraped paint in upper stretch and could only manage to go by a couple of tiring rivals down the lane. COMPUTER HACKER was bumped by the outside foe on the right shoulder stumbling at the break, recovered smartly to press the pace outside down the backstretch, chased in van two wide being scrubbed on early through the turn, was engulfed by runners on both sides unable to quicken with foes who were making a rally at the five sixteenths pole and emptied out three wide in upper stretch. SECRET THREAT was hustled along having a slim advantage in the beginning, edged clear on the rail by the half, opened up going smoothly in hand at the five sixteenths pole, offered no resistance on the fence inside two others when collared turning for home and stopped on the fence inside two others the final furlong.
