Footnotes
IVY'S MISSION settled on the outside of another in mid-division, sat poised in the second flight outside rivals waiting for the cue to move three wide on the bend, shifted to the four path looming a menacing presence at the top of the lane, drove by at the sixteenth pole taking command and held safe at the wire for the win. HEADSPIN was forwardly placed leaving the gate, was smartly reined back off the contentious early duel up top by the five eighths marker, had the rail at the half keeping a close eye on the lead three runners, waited patiently on the fence through the turn behind horses, moved out to the three path lacking running room, weaved through traffic down the lane and had a good late surge when clear in the last sixteenth of a mile to be second best. PERFECT SPEED settled near the rear between runners in the beginning, commenced a rally three wide around horses with five sixteenths from home, was pushed out to the five path still coming on at the quarter pole, continued to close while widest in the seven-path straightening out for the drive and had a strong sustained run to the finish line capturing the show money. LAKER prompted the pace four deep, continued to argue up top between horses at the midpoint of the turn, remained in the thick of things two wide turning for home but could not find more in the late going and faded on the rail in deep stretch capturing only a minor share still showing a gritty effort to the very end. WHYNOTMARIGOLD was allowed to settle into stride trailing the group, shifted out starting to pick up runners at the quarter pole, angled to the five path for the drive to the wire and had a strong late finish passing many rivals through the lane. LADY LUCILLE had a slow start having only one runner beaten along the backside, crept closer taking the shortest way around the turn, hugged the rail closing the gap at the top of the stretch, moved out to the four path looking for a seam and showed good late interest between foes when clear. MONEY HEIST veered out on the start, had the five path outside rivals under a snug hold watching the embattled foursome down the backstretch, made an early move swooping four wide around horses at the three eighths pole bidding for the front end, got a neck in front outside two others in midturn, had the four path clinging up top at the head of the lane but could not sustain the lengthy rally and wilted between runners with a sixteenth still to run. ONCE UPON A KISS dueled for the front with runners on both sides having the three path down the back straight, gave way fighting for the lead regressing two wide midway around the oval, shifted to the four path turning for home but had little left to give in the stretch running. C C'S DREAM vied between runners having the two path in the beginning, took back hard held off the lead group then was shuffled back further at the half, was going in the wrong direction two wide between horses at the five sixteenths pole, could see the field with a quarter mile to run and caught a leg weary straggler inside in the late stages. ASTRAL ASTRID was hustled on the rail part of the early scramble for the lead, had a head in front inside runners at the half, surrendered the lead on the rail midway through the turn and had little left in the tank stopping inside foes by the furlong marker.
