CYCLONE TAYLOR was bumped outside on the start, advanced between horses early on down the backstretch, kept a close eye outside on the front two by the half, edged up smoothly three wide on the turn, pounced in thew three path taking control at the top of the stretch and was kept busy in the final furlong holding sway from two outside foes at the finish line. HARD RIGHT was away alertly on the break then was wrangled back on the fence to be near the rear having only the troubled starter beaten by the five eighths pole, shifted outside at the half, closed the gap smartly three wide with three furlongs remaining, swung out widest having clear run in the five path at the head of the lane, was gaining steadily outside down the stretch to pose the main threat with a furlong from the prize but could not get to the winner in time at the wire. AUNTIE'S BAMBINO broke inwards then stumbled on the start, settled in mid-pack three deep in the early stages, travelled two wide early in the turn watching the front three rivals, shifted out making a run with three eighths still to go, angled to the four path very much in the conversation at the quarter pole, battled stubbornly between foes through the stretch drive but was outkicked in deep stretch to be a clear third at the finish line. SUPER TOM was off slowly spotting the field many lengths while being spurned on for more down the back straightaway, caught up to the group inside by the half taking the short way around the turn, shifted to the three path for the stretch run and managed to show a good effort passing a couple of tiring inside foes down the lane to be a fringe player in the end. STARSHIP SALUTE had a narrow advantage between foes shortly after leaving the gate, let the outside rival go on with it being reined back relinquishing the front end by the five furlong marker, tracked the leader inside the eventual winner midway through the turn, had the two path at the top of the lane still in the mix, moved to the rail in the final furlong but faded in deep stretch getting caught late by an outside foe losing a minor placing. SLIGHTLY NAUGHTY was keen outside foes pulling the rider down the backstretch to the outright lead by the five eighths marker, freewheeled loose up top setting basically an even pace around the turn, was collared outside relinquishing the lead to the eventual winner in upper stretch and yielded to the field on the rail by the furlong marker.
