ZIO CAVALLO quickly took the lead setting the pace near but off the inside, faced mild pressure midway up the backstretch, shook clear of foes leaving the turn and widened in upper stretch, held sway. JOE WEST was between foes at the rear heading up the backstretch, dropped back when in a bit tight trailing on the turn, fanned five wide into upper stretch, kept on to gain the place outside. FINE STYLE broke inwardly, raced off the pace between runners early, was blocked briefly about the five-sixteenths then shifted in to the rail, came out three to four wide in upper- to mid-stretch, ran on but was outkicked for second. CAJUN INFLUENCE settled off the pace racing outside foes, went three to four wide on the turn taking closer order, ran on but needed more. FLYONBYE was forced in at the start, moved forward in pursuit inside, was within striking distance along the rail turning for for home but failed to rally. SURE SHOT TIMBER broke outwardly a bit, moved forward after the opening furlong to press the eventual winner, raced two to three wide on the turn, dropped back and faded.
