Footnotes
MAGNA TIME stalked near the rear inside horses, improved on the fence to sit in mid-division by the half, was nudged on edging up the rail on the last turn, shifted out at the quarter pole, had a full head of steam six wide turning for home and powered past runners through the stretch to win going away the last sixteenth of a mile. HELLO STRANGER became washy prior to the start, was brushed inside at the start trailing the field, lagged behind the pack unhurried down the backside, scraped paint finally catching up to runners in upper stretch and with a solid late charge just off the fence won the battle for the runners up share at the finish line. KING ROSSO settled between challengers close to the back, made little movement along the backside, slowly started to get into gear when urged at the quarter pole, angled to the three path for the stretch run, had to alter course off tiring rivals five wide at the sixteenth pole, could not get to the stablemate in deep stretch but closed in sharply at the wire to just miss out on the second place share when surging outside. SWIFTLET broke out on the start, had a tracking role outside in the early going, kept a close eye on the leader down the back straight, closed in on the final turn to poke his head in front for a moment in the two path in upper stretch but could only finish up mildly in the late running, coming back at the finish to be a fringe player in the end. ACCELERANDO had the fence drafting behind the front runner in the first half of this route race, started to gain some ground when scrubbed for more at the quarter pole to be in the hunt five wide in upper stretch, fought on determinedly until the sixteenth pole but evened out late caught at the wire for a minor placing. LIBERTY BAY travelled three wide close to the back early on, made no progression outside foes along the backstretch, could not improve three wide outside horses on the final turn and only passed tired runners in the stretch. GLOBECREST was jostled between foes on the break, drifted out while tracking the pacesetter five wide entering the first bend, recovered to sit between rivals in midfield down the back straight, kept pace in the third flight between horses on the far turn, shifted out six wide for the drive to the wire but failed to fire down the lane. TORONTO CITY was forced out seven wide into the first turn, improved to be in midfield three deep along the back straight, back pedaled three wide outside runners midway on the last bend and could not factor going widest in the seven path turning for home. INTERIM ANALYSIS had the lead on the rail into the initial bend, slowed the tempo down slightly unopposed down the backside, was collared outside at the head of the lane, had little left for the stretch run and folded on the rail at the furlong marker.
