SCOTTIE'S BARN battled on the inside of another for the front end down the backside, started to edge clear from the outside speed foe by the three eighths marker, had the two path still in control up top turning for home, fended off the brief challenge by the outside foe by the sixteenth pole and under a well rated ride just had enough holding off the late closer outside at the wire for the win. ASHUKA was a joint last on the outside at the half mile marker, made no progression two wide travelling around the oval, shifted to the five path having a clear lane and was full of run finding its best stride in the final furlong but just could not get to the winner showing a good late charge when crossing the finish line. A REAL WAR STORY had the rail position close to the back, started to commence a rail rally at the five sixteenths pole, drifted out three wide when urged for more left-handed at the top of the lane closing in on the leader, was repelled by the winner inside with a sixteenth to run and just got picked up late by an outside foe getting nabbed for the runners up share. ROYAL FONZ dueled on the outside down the backstretch for the top spot, was hard ridden but the frontrunner was beginning to slip away on the fence at the three-furlong marker, chased throughout the turn, shifted to the five-path straightening out for the drive but finished up one paced down the lane to settle on the fringes. WINE MONEY had a good spot isolated watching the contesting duo along the backside, was scrubbed midway on the turn but was getting passed by an inside rival, had to be checked in tight between horses three wide taking the final corner, fought back stubbornly briefly at the furlong pole dueling for the show award but faded in deep stretch. STRAWBERRY RESERVE was off slow at the break spotting the group in the beginning, took closer order catching up to runners co-trailing on the outside at the half, made no impact going three wide through the turn, swung out widest to the six path turning for home but came up empty in the drive.
