PEPPER PATCH was allowed to settle into stride at the rear down the backstretch, started to pick up the bit two wide in midturn, angled out closing in three wide at the quarter marker, gathered more speed fin the five path at the top of the stretch and stormed home outside rivals in the final eighth of a mile pulling away from the competition in the last seventy yards. ALEATORIC had the rail sitting in the second flight, kept pace with the front twosome while being nudged along on the fence in the turn running, scraped paint in the conversation at the head of the lane, kept grinding away inside in the last eighth of a mile, was no match for the winners late burst in the final seventy yards but still showed a solid effort holding for the secondary share at the finish line. SILVER GAL veered out sharply but was quickly corrected by the rider at the start, recovered to press the issue outside the pacesetter early down the backstretch, dropped back a touch at the half, re-engaged outside two wide at the three furlong marker continuing to duel throughout the bend, could not quicken initially with the frontrunner four wide straightening out for the drive, stubbornly kept fighting between horses down the stretch bidding for the lead with four rivals abreast at the sixteenth pole but was just out finished late taking the third place share at the wire while showing a gutsy effort throughout. MY TURN NOW broke sharp but was gathered back between horses sitting in midfield entering the backstretch, had the two path watching the engaged twosome throughout the turn, was scrubbed on at the quarter pole but could not close the gap on the lead pair, angled to the four path for the stretch drive and ran on evenly capturing only a minor placing. CHART THE COURSE was away alertly getting the advantage, edged away for an outright lead still in hand at the half, had company pressing outside by the three eighths pole, spurted away from the early speed foe three wide in upper stretch, was still clinging up top between rivals with a furlong from home but wilted with runners on both sides in deep stretch. BELLALINA was forced out by the inside foe on the break, settled in mid-division going three deep in the early going, was roused three wide at the five sixteenths pole but was going in the wrong direction, had the four path being pushed out by an inside foe at the quarter marker, moved back inside to the rail in mid-stretch but had little to offer in the late going.
